Job Purpose:

As Pastry Chef / Baker you assume an important role within the kitchen brigade, taking responsibility for the production of items produced in the Pastry and Bakery Section.  You will be relied upon to prepare sweet and dessert items and prepare bread and pastry items.


Duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for Pastry and Bakery section whilst ensuring that all items outlined on the menu are produced to the expected standard.
  • Assist in supervising and coaching the junior team in areas throughout the day as appropriate.
  • Ensure that work is conducted in a clean and tidy way, monitoring on a continual basis.
  • Ensure that all legislative guidelines are adhered to including the Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Fire Regulations.
  • Working with the Head Chef you will ensure that all food is produced within the cost parameters set by the budget
  • Monitoring stock control and wastage. 
  • Ensuring that month end stock takes are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assisting with counter / buffet service and live cooking station as required

Qualifications and Skills

Pastry and order bakery experience essential 
Experience working in a similar fast paced environment.
Being reliable and flexible to working hours is important as well as following Company Codes of Conduct and Company policies.
You will have a ‘Can do and Will do’ attitude and ethical and honest.
