Job Purpose
The Kitchen Stewards supports the operation with general cleaning, tidying, housekeeping and manual handling duties. The Stewarding team are an important and essential part of the Kitchen and Front of House teams ensuring that equipment is cleaned and restocked properly and efficiently. The stewarding team also ensure the large catering equipment and fabric of the building are maintained and clean and hygienic. The role is physically demanding and requires candidates that can apply themselves to working hard and attaining high standards.
Duties and responsibilities
Receiving, transporting and storing food, drink and equipment stocks
Using sinks and pot / dish washer machines to clean kitchen and front of house equipment
Maintaining par stocks of cleaning consumables and chemicals
Ensuring all floors, walls, surfaces are clean at all times
Cleaning large kitchen equipment daily / as per schedule
Sorting of laundry and uniform ready for laundry collection
Segregation and removal of waste
Clearing, cleaning tables and resetting furniture
Polishing cutlery, crockery and glassware
General manual handling and movement of goods and equipment
Carrying out any other duties as required by the management
Following food safety procedures
Following all company processes and procedures
Representing the company to highest standards possible and always striving for perfection
Work Experience
Minimum 1 years’ hospitality industry experience
Working is similar catering operations
Skills Required
Very good spoken English, moderate – high written English ability
Well presented
Hands on, hard working in a physical environment
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communicator and team player
