The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is looking for a Senior Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team!

We are looking for a passionate  Senior Chef de Partie wanting to deliver a first-class experience at the world leading hospitality company Portsmouth Marriott Hotel. Located near famous landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower has a range of amenities including: Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant and fitness centre.

As the  Senior Chef de Partie you will…

• Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation for property banquets and events and restaurant for all meal times including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
• Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications.
• Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met.
• Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
• Collaborate successfully with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
• Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
• Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
• Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers daily
• Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
• Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.

A successful Senior Chef de Partie is someone who…

• Enjoys the fast-paced kitchen environment
• Is a team player
• Can communicate clearly (verbal, listening, writing)
• Is proactive, reliable and can support shifts including weekends and bank holidays
• Has NVQ Level 1 and/or 2 (desirable)
• Strives to improve service performance.
