The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is looking for a Part Time Commis Chef to join the kitchen team!

We are looking for an enthusiastic Part Time Commis Chef wanting to ensure high quality dishes at the world leading hospitality company, Portsmouth Marriott Hotel. Located near famous landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower has a range of amenities including: Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant and fitness centre.

As the Part Time Commis Chef you will…

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
• Set-up and break down work station.
• Follow all company, safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications
• Embrace the Marriott culture

A successful Part Time Commis Chef is someone who…

• Enjoys the fast-paced kitchen environment
• Is an excellent team player
• Can communicate clearly (verbal, listening, writing)
• Is proactive, reliable and can support shifts including weekends and bank holidays
• Previous kitchen experience would be beneficial
