Marriott Leeds

Description

See where your journey can take you. At Marriott International, we believe in seizing opportunities and making your own adventure. A world of opportunity comes with every guest you meet – and you never know who might arrive next. That big world also extends to our global, diverse family of associates. Like most families, we’re a group of unique individuals who bring different strengths, styles, personalities and interests to the table. And this makes every single day a new discovery. So, we ask, where will your journey take you?

We require a Night Auditor to join our Front Office team and assist with the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel throughout the night. This is a 32-hour-per-week position, working over 4 days. Working during the overnight hours, you will be responsible for providing a warm and professional welcome to our guests, ensuring their needs are met, while also completing the daily financial and operational checks required to close and balance the hotel's business day.

This is a role for someone who is confident working independently, has excellent attention to detail and can remain calm and professional while managing a variety of guest and operational requirements throughout the night.

What you'll do
  • Welcome and assist guests throughout the night, providing a warm, professional and personalised service.
  • Complete the night audit process accurately and in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room charges, payments and other hotel revenue.
  • Review and verify guest accounts, ensuring all charges and transactions are accurate.
  • Process overnight arrivals, departures and guest requests using the hotel's property management system.
  • Respond professionally and efficiently to guest enquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Handle overnight telephone calls and enquiries in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Monitor the hotel during the night and ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Carry out regular checks of public areas and report any maintenance, security or operational issues.
  • Communicate important information and outstanding matters to the morning team during handover.
  • Prepare relevant reports and documentation for the following day's operations.
  • Follow all cash handling, security, health and safety and hotel operating procedures.
  • Assist with other Front Office duties and support other departments when required.
What we're looking for
  • Previous Front Office, Night Audit or hotel experience is desirable.
  • Strong numerical and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A confident and professional communicator.
  • Comfortable working independently and making appropriate decisions.
  • Organised, reliable and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A calm and positive approach, particularly when dealing with unexpected situations.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn hotel systems quickly.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent guest service.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of handling guest and financial information securely.
The impact you'll make

As a Night Auditor, you play a vital role in ensuring the hotel continues to run smoothly while the rest of the team and many of our guests are asleep. You are often the first point of contact for guests arriving late and the last point of contact for those departing early, making your service and professionalism an important part of their overall experience.

You will combine excellent guest service with strong financial and administrative skills, ensuring the hotel's accounts are accurate, systems are balanced and the business is ready for the day ahead.

You are someone who takes pride in getting the details right, remaining composed under pressure and going the extra mile to make our guests feel welcome and cared for. When you shine, guests can enjoy a seamless stay, and the morning team can start their day with confidence.
