Description

We are now seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join the Engineering team at the newly refurbished Glasgow Marriott Hotel.

In this key role, you will support the Engineering Manager in leading the hotel’s maintenance operations, ensuring all building systems, guest areas, and back-of-house facilities are safe, fully operational, and maintained to Marriott brand standards at all times.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a central role in the day-to-day running of the hotel’s engineering function. This is a working supervisory position, combining technical maintenance expertise with team leadership to ensure planned and reactive maintenance is delivered efficiently, with minimal disruption to guests.

This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week), working a rostered shift pattern including weekends, with participation in an on-call rota (attracting additional incentive pay).

You will supervise and support a small team of maintenance technicians while coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, contractor activity, and statutory compliance requirements across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support the hotel maintenance team on a daily basis
  • Carry out and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general building fabric
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, COSHH, and statutory regulations
  • Carry out and monitor life safety system checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, generators, fire pumps, sprinklers)
  • Supervise external contractors and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Support energy efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with all hotel departments to minimise guest disruption

About You
  • Experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance (4-star or 5-star hotel preferred)
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience in maintenance or engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Experience managing contractors and site works
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and Health & Safety standards
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and a guest-focused attitude

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate from £15.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week)
  • Rostered shifts including weekends
  • On-call rota with additional incentive pay
  • Marriott global discounts (rooms, dining, and more worldwide)
  • Training and development opportunities within Marriott International
  • Meals on duty and uniform provided
  • Supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunity to work in a recently refurbished flagship Glasgow hotel
