We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join the team at the Delta Hotels By Marriott Northampton.  

The Role:

As Sales Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and building strong relationships with our key clients, be accountable for proactively soliciting and managing special corporate accounts, group and catering-related opportunities along with total account management of the existing account portfolio. Your focus is to build long term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales budgets to promote brand loyalty and increase market share.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Proactively delivering hotel sales and revenue budgets across rooms, corporate, meetings, conference and events targets.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers through activities including proactive sales calls, appointments, FAM trips, trade shows.
  • Developing relationships within the community to strengthen the hotel profile and generate new business.
  • Managing and developing relationships with existing accounts to maximise revenue opportunities, repeat business and long-term client rapport.
  • Developing strong relations with with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creatively identify and convert new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, leisure, social events and group segments.
  • Supporting the development and execution of the hotel’s overall sales strategy in line with market trends, demand and commercial objectives
  • Working collaboratively with the Senior Event Manager and reactive sales office team to maximise enquiries, conversion and lead generation opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities through all areas of the hotel operation and working closely with operational departments to generate and convert new leads.
  • Understanding the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knowing how to sell against them.
  • Assisting other departments wherever necessary and maintaining good working relationships within the whole hotel
  • Complying with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

Our Ideal Candidate:

You will have a proven experience within hotel or hospitality sales and with a successful track record. We would also welcome application from candidates looking to take the next step into a Sales Manager role. Must be commercially driven, proactive and confident in building strong client relationships and developing new business opportunities. A good understanding of key hospitality market segments including corporate, MICE, leisure and social events is a must, alongside a tenacious, organised and relationship-focused approach.

This role offers a competitive annual salary as well as a quarterly bonus plan allowing you to earn up to 20% of your salary.
