Lead Exceptional Events in the Heart of Glasgow

Are you an experienced Events & Banqueting Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced hotel environment?

The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is looking for a confident, hands-on hospitality leader to join our team and oversee the successful delivery of meetings, conferences, events and banqueting in our newly refurbished event spaces.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a key leadership role within a busy four-star hotel, developing your team and creating seamless, memorable experiences for every guest.

About the Glasgow Marriott Hotel

Located in the heart of Glasgow, we're just moments from the OVO Hydro, SEC and Hampden Park, making the hotel a popular destination for corporate meetings, conferences, celebrations and major events.

With newly modernised event spaces and a dedicated team, we're entering an exciting new chapter — and we'd love you to be part of it.

What You'll Do

As Events & Banqueting Supervisor, you'll lead the team on the floor and make sure every event runs smoothly from setup through to service and handover.

You'll:

  • Supervise the daily operation of meetings, conferences, events and banqueting functions.
  • Lead, motivate and support the Events & Banqueting team to deliver excellent service.
  • Coordinate with event planners, Food & Beverage, Kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Be a visible and professional point of contact for guests throughout their event.
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, health & safety and compliance.
  • Monitor staffing, stock and departmental costs.
  • Support operational and financial reporting.
  • Maintain and improve SOPs to ensure consistent service.
  • Champion Marriott brand standards in every guest interaction.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proactive, organised and people-focused hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team and delivering exceptional events.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous supervisory experience in events, conferences, banqueting or hotel Food & Beverage.
  • Experience within a 4- or 5-star hotel is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions in a busy environment.
  • A positive, flexible and hands-on approach.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
  • Good spoken and written English.

What's in It for You?

We want you to enjoy your career with us, as well as build it.

You'll receive:

  • Marriott hotel discounts in over 10,000 properties worldwide for you, friends and family.
  • Free use of our on-site leisure club.
  • Complimentary meals while on shift.
  • Free on-site staff parking.
  • Access to a retail and lifestyle discount platform.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • Opportunities to build your career with Marriott's global hotel network.
  • The chance to work as part of a welcoming team at one of Glasgow's leading city-centre hotels.
Career Development
At Marriott, we believe in developing our people.
As you become established in the role, you'll have the opportunity to undertake Person on Duty (Duty Manager) training, giving you exposure to wider hotel operations and leadership responsibilities. Once trained, you'll have the opportunity to cover Duty Manager shifts, which are paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
