POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Sales plays a critical role in managing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. This position oversees the entire account portfolio, ensuring long-term, value-based partnerships. The role focuses on driving significant revenue growth while maintaining the organization’s reputation for excellent service and customer care. Additionally, the Director of Sales leads and develops the Sales Manager and Sales Executive to achieve their goals.

CRITICAL TASKS
Account Management
  • Create and execute sales strategies for account penetration across all segments (Business Travel, Group, Catering).
  • Understand the impact of departmental operations on overall financial goals and communicate accordingly.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new business opportunities to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and economic factors to develop competitive strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external sales channels to ensure coordinated efforts.
  • Implement customer service standards and operational aspects of booked business.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored business solutions.
Budget Management
  • Work with leadership to set, execute, and monitor budget performance over a 12-month period.
  • Monitor offers, discounts, and repeat booking options in collaboration with other departments.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports for management.
Sales Activities and Reports
  • Organize and deliver information on products and services to clients.
  • Build strategic relationships with travel agents, booking agents, and corporate/leisure clients.
  • Prepare contracts aligned with current pricing and business conditions.
Marketing and Client Engagement
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, sales missions, and conferences.
  • Drive incremental business through familiarization visits and corporate hospitality events.
Guest Experience and Relationship Building
  • Collaborate with teams to create exceptional guest experiences.
  • Anticipate and exceed guest expectations, handle complaints, and follow up appropriately.
Team Development
  • Ensure team members have the tools, knowledge, and skills to succeed.
  • Participate in management meetings to implement sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Interview and hire direct reports with appropriate skills.
  • Recognize and celebrate team successes; maintain an ongoing recognition program.
  • Encourage participation in community service events to build teamwork.
Operational Standards and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to operating standards and reporting systems.
  • Support and manage the RFP season, focusing on the Wish/Want/Walk process.
Analytical Skills
  • Apply strong analytical skills to identify trends and factors impacting future performance.
