The impact you’ll make: The Course Supervisor is required to work with the deputy course manager and course manager in a supporting roll, setting the standard for the operational associates in relation to productivity levels, attitude, presentation standards for any tasks undertaken, plus their own personal presentation.  The Course Supervisor is also required to control task completion standards, which must include when required, 360o communication with the Deputy Course Manager, the Golf Course Manager, Mechanic, Other Course Supervisor and if required the Director of Golf and Golf Team.

Responsibilities: Here's what your journey with us entails:

  • To aid the Greenkeeping Management team in the promotion of a professional and customer focused image to the guests, members and associates demonstrating the Marriott values and encouraging teamwork.
  • To supervise the associates allocated to their area, ensuring they deliver the courses at the standard expected by members and guests, leading to improved G.S.S / M.S.S. scores, and in a way that encourages AES improvements.
  • To assist the Greenkeeping Management team in the development of the team, and in the task of providing regular feedback regarding course presentation, individual associates performance and their own personal performance and individual development.
  • To create, maintain and enhance an effective working relationship, through two-way communication, with the Deputy Golf Course Manager, the Golf Course Manager, other Course Supervisor, Mechanic, all areas of the golf department, and all members of the hotel team, with whom contact is encouraged.
  • To create, maintain, develop and control effective working relationships, through two-way communication, with all of the greenkeeping team members, to ensure the smooth running of the business.
  • To aid the Course Manager and Deputy Course Manager in the control of the department’s expenditure, by maintaining the security and condition of the stock and equipment, to aid the achievement of budget targets and business plan objectives. Also, by timely reporting of anything requiring expenditure.
  • To communicate thoroughly with the Deputy Golf Course Manager in relation to the progress of the team to ensure that all work and development plans are coordinated to meet the demands of the business, and the weather but cause the minimum possible disruption to the guests and members.
  • To fully train all team members in the specialist tasks required for the presentation of their particular area.
  • To get to know the team as individuals, developing the knowledge of how they are best motivated and guided.
  • The Course Supervisor is required to be an active member of the morning meeting leadership team.
  • The Course Supervisor may be required to assume some of the Deputy Golf Course Managers tasks during either their or the Golf Course Managers absence.

Safety and Company Policies:

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support the team to reach common goals.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience in a customer service role.
  • Supervisory Experience
  • License or Certification: Qualified to safely use chainsaw equipment and be qualified for the spray application of chemicals, PA1, PA2 & PA6
  • Hold a full driving license
