We are looking for a driven, diligent, and friendly Casual Kitchen Porter to join the team at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel. About Us: The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is undergoing an exciting refurbishment in 2024, bringing modern comfort and style to the city centre. Located near premier attractions like OVO Hydro, Hampden Park, and the University of Glasgow, our hotel offers a vibrant and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Join us as we are putting the finishing touches on the property following a yearlong full refurbishment and be part of our transformational journey.

The Impact You’ll Make: This is a great opportunity to learn how a kitchen operates from the ground up. What you’ll be doing 

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-wash station, and rubbish compactor. 
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, knives, and equipment. 
• Receive deliveries, store perishables properly and rotate stock. 
• Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments. 

Who We Are Looking For: We seek an enthusiastic, motivated individual with experience in a similar role within the hospitality or travel and tourism industry. The ideal candidate is a team player, fast learner, adaptable, and possesses exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills. You would be someone who:

• Follows all Company safety and security policies and procedures
• Protects Company assets
• Proactive and reliable
• Responsible with great listening skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Skilled in effective communication with a positive outlook
• Flexibility and multi-tasking ability
• Previous experience in a similar hospitality setting preferred.

This role requires the ability move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
