As we undergo an exciting refurbishment and transition into the Autograph Collection — a brand celebrated for being “exactly like nothing else” — we’re looking for a dynamic leader who thrives on action, performance, and people. Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel sits proudly in the heart of the city centre, moments from Bristol Temple Meads station. For more than 150 years, this beautifully restored Grade II listed Victorian landmark has welcomed guests with timeless elegance and warm hospitality.

Now, we are embarking on a transformative journey. Our refurbishment and rebranding into the Autograph Collection will elevate the hotel into a uniquely characterful, design‑led destination — one that blends heritage with individuality and delivers an experience truly “exactly like nothing else.”

With 266 stylishly appointed rooms, rich architectural detail, and an unrivalled location beside Bristol Cathedral and close to Cabot Circus, the hotel is poised for an extraordinary new era.

The Role

As our General Manager, you are the heartbeat of the hotel. You’ll lead the transformation from the inside out — inspiring teams, driving performance, and ensuring every part of the operation runs with precision and personality. You’ll champion the Autograph Collection ethos while delivering the exceptional hospitality our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and energise a passionate team to deliver standout service
  • Drive revenue, boost profitability, and maximise commercial opportunities
  • Bring the Autograph Collection vision to life with confidence and flair
  • Maintain exceptional guest satisfaction through proactive, visible leadership
  • Own the hotel’s financial performance, budgets, and forecasting
  • Recruit, coach, and develop top talent across all departments
  • Accelerate sales and marketing activity to keep us ahead of the competition
  • Ensure every area of the hotel is safe, compliant, and guest‑ready

About You

  • Proven leadership in a full‑service, branded hotel environment
  • A results‑driven mindset with strong commercial instincts
  • A natural ability to inspire, influence, and unite teams
  • Hands‑on energy with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Experience with Marriott or Autograph Collection is a powerful advantage
