As a Front Desk Associate at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel, you are more than just the first point of contact — you are the beginning of our guests’ experience. Your role is to create a warm, professional, and memorable welcome from the very first interaction. You'll process check-ins and check-outs seamlessly, handle enquiries with confidence, and share your knowledge of our hotel and the vibrant city of Glasgow. With every interaction, you have the opportunity to make someone’s day brighter — all in the iconic setting of a globally respected hotel brand.


Responsibilities: Here’s what your journey with us entails

  • Greeting every guest with a warm welcome, genuine smile, and friendly eye contact
  • Seamlessly managing check-in/check-out procedures and handling guest requests promptly
  • Anticipating guest needs and personalizing interactions to ensure a unique and memorable stay
  • Managing room reservations and special requests, ensuring accuracy in all guest information
  • Handling switchboard operations, messages, and guest enquiries with professionalism
  • Posting charges and payments accurately; ensuring guest bills are correct and up to date
  • Preparing floats and processing banking in line with company procedures
  • Ensuring smooth and effective communication between shifts through handovers
  • Staying informed about local events, attractions, and hotel offerings to engage guests in meaningful conversation
  • Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment
  • Performing other reasonable duties as required by Supervisors or Managers

Qualifications: What we're looking for

  • Passion for customer service with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in a Front Desk, Reception, or similar hospitality environment (preferred)
  • Confident in using computer systems and handling cash accurately
  • Flexible to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Fluent in English
