Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Join Glasgow Marriott Hotel

Located in the heart of Glasgow, the Glasgow Marriott Hotel is perfectly placed for both business and leisure travellers, just moments from the OVO Hydro, Hampden Park and the University of Glasgow.

As part of a globally recognised Marriott-branded hotel, we're passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while creating rewarding careers for our associates.

If you're an experienced Front Desk Supervisor, Reception Supervisor or Hotel Receptionist looking to take the next step into leadership, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate and motivated Front Desk Supervisor to support our Front Office Manager in leading our Front Desk team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of Reception, deliver exceptional guest experiences, coach and develop your team, and help drive service excellence and commercial performance.

You'll join a supportive, collaborative team where no two days are the same, and every team member plays an important part in creating memorable stays for our guests.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead, motivate and support the Front Desk team during daily operations.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service from arrival through to departure.
  • Ensure accurate check-in, check-out, billing and reservation procedures using Opera PMS.
  • Train, coach and develop team members to Marriott brand standards.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Identify upselling opportunities to maximise room revenue and enhance the guest experience.
  • Work closely with Reservations, Housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure cash handling, banking procedures and security processes are followed correctly.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, fire safety and security compliance.
  • Complete shift handovers and maintain effective communication across the Front Office team.
  • Monitor Front Office stock levels and maintain operational standards at all times.
What We're Looking For

You'll be a positive and confident hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and creating exceptional guest experiences.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a hotel Front Desk, Reception or Front Office role.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • A good standard of spoken and written English.
Career Development

At Marriott, we believe in developing our people and creating clear pathways for career progression.

As you become established in the role, you'll have the opportunity to undertake Person on Duty (Duty Manager) training, giving you valuable exposure to wider hotel operations and leadership responsibilities.

Once trained, you'll have the opportunity to cover Duty Manager shifts, which are paid at an enhanced hourly rate.

Whether your ambition is to progress into Front Office Management, Operations or another area of the business, Marriott provides industry-leading learning and development programmes to help you achieve your career goals.

Benefits

In return, we offer an excellent package including:

  • Discounted stays at over 10,000 Marriott hotels worldwide.
  • Free use of the Glasgow Marriott Leisure Club.
  • Complimentary meals whilst on duty.
  • Free on-site parking during shifts.
  • Employee retail discounts through our benefits platform.
  • Comprehensive training and development programmes.
  • Global career opportunities across Marriott's worldwide network.
  • Recognition programmes and team engagement activities.
