Reporting into: Leisure Club Team Leader, Senior Leisure Club Operations Supervisor, Leisure Club Manager

This job description sets out the current duties of the job role that may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the job role or the level of responsibility entailed.


Job Purpose

As a Leisure Attendant, you will be the face of our leisure club—meeting and greeting guests, supporting daily operations, and ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming members, guests, and prospective members in a professional and friendly manner
  • Managing bookings for classes and leisure facilities
  • Handling enquiries and responding to customer requests efficiently
  • Processing payments and supporting membership sign-ups
  • Maintaining retail stock levels and presentation
  • Completing daily cleaning tasks to ensure all areas meet hygiene and presentation standards
  • Ensuring cleanliness across all areas, including:
    • Gym and studio
    • Changing rooms and restrooms
    • Poolside, sauna, and steam room
  • Supporting pool operations, including testing, backwashing, and safe chemical handling
  • Carrying out opening and closing procedures
  • Following all health & safety, COSHH, and manual handling guidelines
  • Supporting the wider team with any additional duties as required

 

·         Carry out pool testing during your shift and hand over clearly to the next team member.

·         Help with general plant room duties to keep everything operating safely.

·         Keep store rooms and plant rooms tidy, following all Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.

·         Complete daily and weekly maintenance checks, reporting any issues to the Maintenance team.

·         Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the club—including hourly checks.

·         Monitor stock levels and report when items are running low.

·         Suggest improvements and more efficient ways of working.

·         Provide friendly, attentive customer service at all times.

 

Health, Safety & Compliance

·         Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and pool safety protocols.

·         Take responsibility for completing required risk assessments and checklists, ensuring standards are upheld in your absence.

·         Respond swiftly and professionally to incidents, member concerns, or guest complaints, reporting any issues to your team leaders.

·         Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, management, and other hotel departments to ensure smooth coordination.

·         Contribute positively to team meetings and staff development sessions, offering input and suggestions for improvement.

Handling & Admin

·         Count and balance floats at the beginning and end of shifts.

·         Follow all cash-handling and banking procedures (including blind banking).

·         Process payments correctly following accounting policies.

·         Transport and secure your bank according to safety procedures.

 


Working Pattern

  • Work flexibly on a scheduled shift rota across Monday – Sunday, including public holidays.
  • Be adaptable to cover staffing shortfalls and business priorities to ensure operational continuity
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
