Whether it's delivering a busy service, maintaining consistency across our dishes or helping the team grow, you'll play an important role in the success of our kitchen.

What's in it for you?

We know that a great kitchen team deserves to be looked after. Here's what you can expect when you join us:

  • Marriott associate discounts – Enjoy discounts on hotel stays and food and beverage at participating hotels across Marriott's global portfolio.

  • Career progression – Develop your skills and explore future opportunities across Marriott's international network.

  • Training and development – Access learning opportunities to build your culinary, leadership and management skills.

  • Free meals on duty – Enjoy a complimentary meal during your shift.

  • Uniform provided – We've got your work uniform covered.

  • Pension scheme – Access to The People's Pension.

  • Employee Assistance Programme – Confidential support with a range of personal, health and financial matters.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside the Head Chef, you'll help lead the kitchen team and ensure every dish leaving the kitchen meets our standards for quality, presentation and consistency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and leading the team during service.

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.

  • Taking responsibility for the quality, consistency and presentation of food across the menu.

  • Supporting the training, coaching and development of the kitchen team, helping others build their confidence and skills.

  • Organising preparation and kitchen workloads to ensure the team is ready for service.

  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards in line with HACCP requirements and company procedures.

  • Monitoring stock levels, food rotation and storage, helping control costs and minimise food waste.

  • Ensuring ingredients are stored, labelled and handled correctly, with appropriate temperature checks and records completed.

  • Communicating effectively with the Head Chef and Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth service and a great guest experience.

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and well-equipped kitchen, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

  • Contributing ideas, supporting menu development where appropriate and helping us continually improve the food we serve.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine passion for food.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen, with experience at Chef de Partie or Sous Chef level.

  • Strong cooking skills and a good understanding of food preparation, presentation and kitchen operations.

  • The ability to lead by example, support others and remain calm during busy services.

  • A good understanding of food hygiene, allergen management and safe food handling.

  • An organised approach, with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

  • A positive, team-focused attitude and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • A Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering qualification and food allergy and intolerance training, or a willingness to complete the relevant training.
