OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The role of the Commercial Director is to successfully oversee the commercial operations within the hotel. They are responsible for crafting and executing a dynamic commercial strategy that drives total revenue, profit performance and market share growth across all segments and channels of the hotel. Providing leadership to the commercial division, the Commercial Director will support driving the culture of the business for both guests and employees, maximising financial performance and operational efficiency.  

EXPECTATIONS

The Commercial Director is expected to:

  • Always maintain a consistently professional demeanor.
  • Represent NoMad London positively in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Always adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Health & Safety policies, HR guidelines and compliance trainings.
  • As a Division Head, demonstration of flexibility, visibility and strong leadership are vital.
  • Effectively manage workload and responsibilities with efficiency.
  • Foster clear and effective communication within the team, across departments and between both hotels and management.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to guide and inspire the team.
  • Champion our company values and foster a positive and collaborative approach across all departments. 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Commercial Director are summarised as below, however the list is not exhaustive:

  • Directly accountable for driving the Top Line Budget and Forecast by implementing a commercial strategy and business plan through to execution with the General Manager, Hilton Worldwide Commercial Team and any other relevant parties.
  • Work with the General Manager and Finance Director to ensure profits are maximized across all departments.
  • Ensure the General Manager is kept informed and up to date with any necessary changes in commercial strategy or information deemed relevant for the running of the hotel.
  • Be adaptable to the business needs; identifying and rectifying any concerns where appropriate in order to maximise revenue.
  • Support and guide direct reporting lines to ensure they are a high-performing team; and build strong partnerships across the hotel with all relevant stakeholders.
  • In the absence of the General Manager, be a representative of the business; ensuring correct strategic decisions are made in lieu of the General Manager where appropriate or seeking advice where necessary.
