We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Alba. As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods. This role requires expertise in pastry techniques, creativity in dessert design, and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities:
  • Pastry Preparation: Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation for all pastry items, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Baking and Decoration: Bake and decorate cakes, tarts, and other desserts with creativity and precision.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, and communicate with management about stock needs.
  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following proper sanitation and food safety practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other pastry chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house personnel to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Contribute ideas for new desserts and pastries, and participate in menu development and seasonal offerings.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in pastry and baking, preferably in a restaurant or bakery setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various pastry techniques, including cake decoration, bread baking, and confectionery.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure consistent quality and presentation in all pastry items.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve kitchen-related issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Time Management: Skill in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing during busy service periods.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
