Pub Supervisor – The Brackenrigg Inn by Another Place, The Lake

Local food and drink, roaring fires, lively conversation and contemporary en-suite rooms wait for guests, locals and walkers in our relaxed and inviting Cumbrian pub. Renowned for its elevated views over Ullswater, refreshing pints in the sun, and truly unbeatable pies, the Brackenrigg Inn takes inviting to a whole new level.

Acquired by Another Place and relaunched in 2024, The Brackenrigg Inn captures our active relaxation ethos of Another Place, The Lake and reimagines it in a vibrant, welcoming, and inviting pub where hospitality and contemporary comfort combine with views over Ullswater and the fells.

Refitted to minimise environmental impact and celebrate local Cumbrian culture, it showcases local craftsmanship and antique furniture, capturing the beauty of a traditional pub with a modern finish.

With a team that values connection, flexibility, variety, and challenge, we're all about making a meaningful impact and know what it means to go above and beyond for our team and guests.

Led by our Manager James, our small, down-to-earth team welcomes guests from near and far and serves hearty, locally inspired Cumbrian dishes made with care, confidence, and creativity.

It’s a place to gather, meet new friends, and get stuck in. That’s The Brackenrigg Inn.

Our Pub Supervisor role:

We’re looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to support our Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of The Brackenrigg Inn. You’ll support the team, ensuring the smooth running of the pub, and supervise an establishment that prides itself on Cumbrian roots and hospitality. It’s an energetic environment, perfect for someone who thrives in a small team and enjoys staying organised.

You’ll bring your leadership, attentiveness, and positive approach to guide the team, oversee daily operations, and ensure the pub runs seamlessly. You’ll also be part of an exceptional dining and guest experience, working alongside our Head Chef to highlight our love of locally sourced food in our beautiful lakeside setting.

Relaxed professionalism is at the heart of what we do, and we encourage our team to be themselves, stay authentic, and develop their skills as they grow in their careers.

This full-time position is offered on a zero-hour contact.

As our Pub Supervisor you’ll be:

  • Working to exceed guest expectations by supervising the Inn in a relaxed but professional manner.
  • Part of a team with a hands-on approach to your shift and supporting on the floor.
  • Liaising with our Manager to successfully deliver service.
  • Supporting Housekeeping to help drive standards.
  • Learning all systems required to carry out duties.
  • Ensuring billing is completed with a personal, grounded touch.
  • Ensuring all complaints and feedback are managed to company standard and lending a sympathetic ear to any complaints received.
  • Supporting the ongoing training, development and performance of our Inn team and promoting a culture of continual professional development.
  • Ensuring a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.

Our commitment to our team is reflected in our exceptional working environment - one that promotes work-life balance, professional development, and plenty of opportunities for growth.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Proven experience within a similar setting (desirable)
  • Supervisory experience (desirable)
  • A minimum of Grade C (or above) in GCSE Maths and English
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
  • Capable of guiding and motivating a team effectively
  • Experienced in cash handling, ensuring accuracy in all transactions
  • A responsible and reliable nature
  • Confident in communication and decision-making
  • A genuine care for our team and our wider environment
