Babysitter – Another Place, The Lake (Hotel) | Kids Zone

We’re looking for a caring, attentive and enthusiastic Babysitter to support our Kids’ Zone family.

The outdoors is our playground, and we know how to make the most of it, whatever the weather. We care for children aged 6 months to 12 years old and provide a babysitting service for children on request.

Our in-room babysitting service allows hotel guests to enjoy time away while their children are cared for. We also run supervised sessions at our Ofsted-registered setting within the hotel, available to guests and non-residents.

Our Babysitter role:

As our Babysitter, you’ll help imaginations soar, turn bedtime stories into treasured moments, and give parents the reassurance they need to relax and enjoy their stay. You’ll have an NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Early Years and Childcare, or a recognised Babysitting certificate, and play a central role in delivering a warm, creative and reassuring in-hotel childcare experience.

This is a full-time role offered on a zero-hour contract, with a share of tips paid monthly.

As our Babysitter you’ll be:

• Undertaking babysitting in guests’ rooms and tending to children’s individual needs, ensuring that children are always safe and secure.
• Bringing children a sense of comfort, confidence and fun.
• Developing good working relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
• Completing babysitting receipts and ensuring they are given into reception.
• Completing risk assessments and adhering to department policies.
• Reporting and recording any incidents and accidents of concern to our Kid’s Zone Manager.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development and undertaking training as appropriate.
• Taking on a mixture of day and evening shifts throughout the year, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Bringing an upbeat and energetic attitude to the team.
• Attending and partaking in staff meetings as required.
• Ensuring babysitting sessions comply with the terms and conditions provided to guests.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

• An energetic team player with a positive attitude and outlook
• The ability to be clear and concise when communicating with guests, children and colleagues
• NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent or above) in Early Years and Childcare, or a Babysitting certificate
• An up-to-date Paediatric First Aid qualification (or a willingness to undertake training)
• An up-to-date Safeguarding Level 1 (or a willingness to undertake training)
• Proven experience of delivering childcare and play opportunities to children between 6 months and 12 years of age
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and any relevant legislation including health and safety, equality, disability, and safeguarding children
• The ability to remain calm under pressure, and to use your initiative in a variety of situations
• Experience working within a hospitality environment (preferred)
