Food and Beverage Assistant – Another Place, The Lake

Offering monthly tips, free paddleboard hire, discounted meals and free team parking, all on the shores of Ullswater with one unforgettable view.

Warm hospitality and contemporary comfort combine with breath-taking views over Ullswater and the surrounding fells.

At Another Place, The Lake, guests come to slow down, reconnect with nature and spend time doing what they love – paddleboarding across the lake, swimming beneath a full moon, exploring the fells and sharing great food with friends and family.

For our team, it’s just as special.

Working here means being part of a welcoming community where you can grow your career, develop your skills and help create memorable experiences for our guests in one of the most inspiring settings in the UK.

Our Food and Beverage Assistant role:

We’re looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant to join our team. You’ll be central to the delivery of our seamless guest dining experience, where calm efficiency, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality come together.

You’ll support our day-to-day food and beverage service with care and professionalism, anticipating guests’ needs and ensuring every interaction feels effortless and welcoming.

Working closely with the wider team, you’ll also maintain the high standards that allow our operation to run smoothly behind the scenes, so our guests can simply unwind, soak in the views, and lose themselves in the quiet joy of the moment.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Welcoming guests with warmth, friendliness, and professionalism, making every interaction feel effortless and genuine.
  • Hands-on across all areas of the restaurant, keeping things running smoothly and seamlessly.
  • Crafting hot and cold drinks with care and attention to detail.
  • Continuously growing your knowledge of our company, products, and menus and sharing your ideas to help us innovate and improve.
  • Taking part in team tasting sessions, giving you an authentic understanding of our menus to spark creativity, conversation, and team connection.
  • Keeping your workspace clean, tidy, and organised to ensure that both guests and team members feel at ease.
  • Looking after guest billing efficiently and accurately.
  • Supporting and mentoring new team members, sharing your skills and helping them thrive.
  • Collaborating as part of our dynamic, committed team, where flexibility, curiosity, and energy are combined.

What you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Some barista, waiting, or bar experience (or time spent in other guest-facing roles in retail or leisure) is ideal, but personality and attitude matter most, and we offer full training for the right candidate
  • A team spirit, with a personality that lights up the room
  • Energy and passion for everything you do, big or small
  • A genuine drive to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest
  • An openness to using the latest technology to make ordering and billing seamless, without losing that personal touch
  • The ability to work smart, stay confident, and know that dedication and effort always pay off

What we can offer in return:

  • A relaxed, professional place to work in a beautiful location – right on the shores of Ullswater
  • Excellent career prospects in an ever-expanding organisation
  • Special rates for you and your friends & family to stay at Another Place and Watergate Bay Hotel
  • Team discounts on treatments in Swim Club
  • Discounts for you and your friends & family to eat at our restaurants: at Rampsbeck, Living Space and Glasshouse
  • Team social events throughout the year
  • Team assistance scheme – a dedicated helpline for support & advice on topics from mental health through to managing your finances

From discounted stays to training and development opportunities, we're all about helping our team achieve their personal and professional goals. Located in 18 acres of Lake District National Park, you'll never be short on inspiration.
