Therapist – Swim Club | Another Place, The Lake

Warm hospitality and contemporary comfort combine with breath-taking views over Ullswater and the surrounding fells.

At Another Place, The Lake, guests come to slow down, reconnect with nature and spend time doing what they love — paddleboarding across the lake, swimming beneath a full moon, exploring the fells and sharing great food with friends and family.

For our team, it’s just as special.

Working here means being part of a welcoming community where you can grow your career, develop your skills and help create memorable experiences for our guests in one of the most inspiring settings in the UK.

Why you’ll love working here

Joining our team means being part of a supportive and friendly spa environment where wellbeing, teamwork and professional development are genuinely valued. We offer:

  • A relaxed, professional spa environment right on the shores of Ullswater
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and grow your career in spa and wellness
  • Special rates for you, your friends and family to stay at Another Place and Watergate Bay Hotel
  • Team discounts on treatments at Swim Club
  • Discounts for you and your friends & family to dine in our restaurants: Rampsbeck, The Living Space and Glasshouse
  • Regular team social events throughout the year
  • Access to our Team Assistance Scheme, offering confidential support on wellbeing, mental health and financial advice
  • Training and development opportunities within a growing hotel group

Set within 18 acres of the Lake District National Park, this is a workplace where nature, wellbeing and hospitality come together.

The role

Our Swim Club therapists deliver exceptional spa treatments and create relaxing, personalised experiences for every guest.

Working closely with the Senior House Manager, you’ll be part of a supportive team that takes pride in delivering outstanding service and genuine hospitality.

This is a part-time role, offering 16 hours per week, on a flexible zero-hours contract with working hours arranged according to business needs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering a range of professional spa treatments including massage and facials to our high standards.
  • Providing personalised treatment recommendations and professional advice to guests.
  • Creating a calm and welcoming environment for every guest.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in treatment rooms.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are cleaned and sterilised correctly.
  • Managing daily bookings and adapting to changing guest needs.
  • Sharing guest feedback with the Senior House Manager to help us continually improve the guest experience.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Holds NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy or equivalent (BTEC or ITEC)
  • Has experience delivering spa or beauty treatments (or strong practical training)
  • Is passionate about wellbeing and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Has excellent communication and people skills
  • Takes pride in delivering high standards of service
  • Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
  • Brings a positive, warm and professional approach to the team
We are also happy to consider candidates with NVQ Level 2 who are currently working towards Level 3, as well as apprentices looking to begin their career in spa therapy.

Starting your spa career

We believe great therapists are developed through experience, mentoring and a passion for wellbeing.

If you’re early in your spa career, currently studying, or completing your NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, we’d still love to hear from you. We’re happy to support the right candidate who is enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learn.

Our experienced team will help you build your confidence, develop your treatment skills and grow your career within the spa and wellness industry.
