Area Chef | £40,000-£45,000 per annum + Bonus

The successful Area Chef will report into the Operations Director and is expected to work closely with our Regional Chef and Operations Managers to lead all aspects of the kitchen operation. You will deliver a high-quality menu and motivate our staff to work to our high standards regardless of trading levels. 

 

Area Chef responsibilities include: 
 

  •        Deliver the quality, and consistency of food shakes and waffles in line with specs
  •        Implement and monitor food safety and health and safety policies
  •        Monitoring and coaching in-store kitchen teams to minimise food waiting times (under 12 minutes), improve food quality & control wastage
  •        Assisting with new product launches as required and implementation in all stores
  •        Working weekends as required to support on site teams, producing a report and action plan with the view to follow up and review with the Operations Manager and Store Manager
  •        Assisting with training for all store refurbishments and new openings
  •        Training and development of kitchen team including the safe use of equipment, following the correct oil filtering process, cooking food to specification, following company policies in place and all other training required in the kitchen
  •        Develop existing Regional Chefs, Senior Kitchen Managers, Kitchen Managers, Assistant Kitchen Managers and Supervisors working with the Operations and L&D team to put a training plan in place
  •        Support Operations Manager and General Manager in delivering stocks and wages in line with the business budgets
  •        Working with all stores to ensure back-of-house equipment is operational and follow the correct process if not
  •        Supporting in-store management team to create par levels and prep lists to minimise wastage and improve operational efficiency
  •        Supporting all stores to achieve minimum 90% internal audit score

 

Requirements and skills: 
 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an Area Chef role, ideally in a QSR business
  • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering stock 
  • Proven track history in training and developing kitchen teams
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills 
  • Conflict management abilities 
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment, leading by example
