About the Hotels

Renaissance London Heathrow and Radisson Blu Heathrow Hotel & Conference Centre are two landmark properties serving leisure, business, and airport travellers.

Together, the hotels offer over 1,170 bedrooms, extensive conference and event facilities exceeding 50 meeting rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, and comprehensive leisure and wellness facilities, including gyms, health clubs, spa amenities, and business centres. Both properties are large, complex operations with high guest volumes, demanding exceptional engineering standards, safety compliance, and operational excellence.

A bit about what you will do... 

As Cluster Chief Engineer, you will lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across both hotels. Reporting to the General Managers, you will ensure that buildings, plant, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest brand and Arora group standards while remaining fully compliant with all statutory, health & safety, and fire regulations.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multi-property operations through clear communication, coaching, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Overall responsibility for maintenance delivery across both hotels, ensuring brand standards and statutory compliance at all times
  • Act as the Health & Safety and technical compliance lead, overseeing fire safety, risk assessments, permits to work, and statutory inspections
  • Lead, coach, and line-manage hotel-based engineering teams, driving performance, training, and development
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance and reactive works using the CAFM system, ensuring all tasks are logged, tracked, and completed efficiently
  • Prepare, manage, and control departmental budgets, including energy management, cost control, and capital planning
  • Lead refurbishment, renovation, and capital projects, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines
  • Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental initiatives, including brand and ISO standards and Green Engage programmes
  • Manage contractors, procurement, stock control, and supply chain to deliver cost-effective maintenance services
  • Ensure high standards of guest experience through prompt, professional, and discreet maintenance responses
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support when required, remaining available for emergencies and critical incidents
  • Work closely with hotel leadership and operational departments to continually improve property standards
  • Undertake Duty Manager shifts as required

More About You…

  • Proven experience in a Chief Engineer / Cluster Engineering role within a 4-star or large upscale hotel environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • Recognised electrical or engineering qualification with strong multi-trade expertise (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry)
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation, fire safety, and building services systems
  • Strong business acumen with solid budgeting, cost control
  • Experience leading sustainability and energy-saving initiatives in a large hotel environment
  • Confident, influential communicator able to work effectively across all levels
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to use initiative in challenging situations
  • High standard of written and spoken English
  • Proficient in maintenance management systems (CAFM) and Microsoft Office
