Connected to Gatwick South terminal, Hilton London Gatwick has 821 bedrooms and an exciting selection of restaurants and bars, including a Japanese Steakhouse. The hotel has a fitness centre and 23 meeting rooms that can host large conferences.     

A bit about what you will do...  

Day Engineers in our team provide effective repair and preventative maintenance to ensure our hotel, grounds and facilities are kept in excellent condition. Working alongside the Engineering Team to maintain the hotel and its fabric in excellent condition at all times, ensuring that all facilities, plant areas and associated equipment are in full working order. 

  • Perform hands-on maintenance of mechanical systems (boilers, chillers, pumps, air-conditioning).
  • Support the hotel's preventive maintenance program.
  • Repair and maintain guest room equipment via service requests.
  • Replace fixtures, fittings, and appliances for guests and staff with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct daily plant room inspections as per maintenance procedures.
  • Respond immediately to emergency repairs in guest areas.
  • Assist with additional maintenance tasks as directed by engineering leadership.
  • Carry out occasional painting and building repair work.
  • Manage and monitor hotel environment using the BMS system (temperature, schedules).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Good at multi-tasking and being able to respond to changes in job priorities at short notice. 

  • Flexible approach, remaining calm under pressure and working hard to avoid disrupting our guests. 

  • You value being part of a team and supporting your colleagues.  

  • Most of all, you have an approachable, positive, and proactive manner. 

  • Plumbing, carpentry, and electrical skills are a real advantage. 

  • Experience in a similar role within a 4-star hotel is a significant advantage.
