A bit about what you will do...  

The Director of Sales in our luxurious hotel plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and maximising occupancy by leading the Sales team in creating, defining, and implementing strategic initiatives that attract guests, increase bookings, and enhance brand visibility. 

  • Lead the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, MICE, and leisure sales.
  • Create and develop special events and sales blitzes to showcase the hotel to potential clients. 
  • Attend trade shows and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales opportunities for the hotel. 
  • Develop strong relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and industry partners. 
  • Regularly review the hotel’s commercial strategy, identify new revenue streams and maximise the hotel’s profitability and market position. 
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. 
  • Manage departmental budgets and sales goals to ensure targets and objectives are met maximising profitability. 
  • Create an engaging environment for the team by motivating them through recognition, reward, training and development, with a strong focus on retention. 
  •  Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to manage conflict and improve performance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends. 
  • Proven experience in managing, coaching and developing Sales teams. 
  • Excellent commercial understanding with the ability to drive new business and grow market share. 
  • Strong grasp of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close business. 
  • A self-starter who can independently drive results.  
  • Approachable and positive manner with a “can do” attitude. 
  • A smart and professional appearance. 
  • Proven track record in a similar position within a 5-star hotel. 
  • Excellent standard of English, both written and spoken. 
  • Previous experience with large MICE space sales.
