Arora is a large, privately owned group of companies with a portfolio of owner operated hotels, multi-let office investments and development sites. The group is responsible for a combined turnover of over £270m and assets valued above £1 billion. Due to the continual growth of the business an exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified tax professional to join the company’s central finance and tax team.

We are looking for Energy & Sustainability Manager. The role will be responsible for developing the strategy to grow a commercial finance loan book of Energy, Renewable and ESG assets.

This role is fully office based role at Arora Group Head Office at Heathrow Airport area.

The ideal candidates will possess the breadth of competency, dynamism and adaptability to operate within a fast paced, demanding commercial environment. The successful Head of Energy owns the commercialisation strategy to ensure the sector activities are in line with the Company’s long-term objectives and ensure business sustainability. The successful candidate will be solution focused and be able to communicate effectively at all levels and with external suppliers and customers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build, encourage and execute the Energy & Sustainability strategy for the Company.
  • Manage the development of the utility metering and monitoring system and ensure its effectiveness in relation to targeting and reducing energy consumption and in the promotion of stakeholder awareness of energy and water usage
  • Stays ahead of the current developments in the area of ESG Agenda, proposes appropriate initiatives.
  • Cover all major Energy & Sustainability issues with Project Managers.
  • Advise the Company on achieving and maintaining carbon neutrality.
  • Take the lead on the development of Net Zero Carbon Roadmaps and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Have a full understanding of Building Regulations Part L.
  • Understand the requirements of local authority requirements regarding energy.
  • Have knowledge of energy modelling and work with sub-consultants with regards to getting the modelling completed.
  • Understand thermal modelling and work with sub-consultants with regards to getting the modelling completed.

Skills & Experiences:

  • Strong and extensive experience of successfully bidding , managing and reviewing energy and sustainability assessments for the built environment.
  • Professional experience in carrying out Energy calculations and Energy Reports for planning purposes.
  • Chartered status through relevant professional body
  • Proven technical and commercial leadership capability
  • Experience in a customer facing role
