Hotel Manager - Switzerland
(Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German, English and Italian are desirable)
Chesa Marchetta is a gem in the Upper Engadin and the first hotel in Switzerland by the Artfarm Group.
Chesa Marchetta is part of Artfarm, a company that thoughtfully brings together art and culture with hospitality and gastronomy in extraordinary places around the world. The Artfarm Group is closely connected to Hauser & Wirth, one of the world’s leading galleries for contemporary and modern art.
Following an extensive renovation, Chesa
Marchetta reopened in December 2025. The hotel combines 13 individually
designed rooms, a restaurant with around 50 seats, a cocktail bar, a Private
House and two event spaces. A team
of around 30 people ensures that a
special hotel becomes a truly special experience.
For the continued development of Chesa Marchetta, we are looking
for an engaged, motivated
and professional individual to join us as Hotel Manager.
You are the face and driving
force behind Chesa Marchetta. As Hotel Manager, you will ensure that our guests feel personally welcomed from their very first contact through to departure, while leading and inspiring your team to deliver the same exceptional level of service.
You will manage the hotel with an entrepreneurial mindset, a strong understanding of people and high standards of quality and hospitality.
You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of Chesa Marchetta. As the restaurant and events business are key contributors to the hotel's overall revenue, a strong understanding of food and beverage operations, together with a genuine interest in actively shaping and developing this area, is particularly valuable.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Overall responsibility for the hotel operation and day-to-day management
· Leading, motivating and developing a team of around 30 people
· Ensuring an authentic and consistently high-quality guest experience
· Responsibility for budgets, revenue, costs and operational performance
· Further developing operational processes and procedures
· Maintaining a strong presence throughout the hotel and creating genuine connections with guests
· Working closely with the different departments and the Artfarm Group
· Recruiting and developing employees in collaboration with People & Culture
· Building and maintaining relationships with local partners, suppliers and the regional network
· Representing Chesa Marchetta both externally and within the Artfarm Group
What You Bring
We are looking for a personality with a genuine passion for hospitality, leadership potential and the enthusiasm to take responsibility. For us, it is not essential that you have already managed a hotel. What matters is your motivation to develop, take ownership and grow together with Artfarm.
Ideally, you will bring:
· Initial leadership experience in upscale hospitality, for example as Deputy Hotel Manager, Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager or similar role
· Sound knowledge of the hotel and hospitality industry, together with a good understanding of day-to-day hotel operations
· A genuine passion for leading, developing and inspiring people
· A strong focus on quality and a passion for delivering exceptional service and hospitality
· A good understanding of food and beverage operations and ideally experienced in restaurants or events
· An entrepreneurial mindset and a good understanding of figures and commercial relationships
· Strong organisational skills, decisiveness and a hands-on approach
· A good instinct for people, situations and the individual needs of our guests
· A proactive approach and enthusiasm for a dynamic work environment
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in German, English and Italian
We are particularly interested in meeting someone who knows the Engadin, feels connected to the region and has a genuine understanding of its people, culture and particular character. We also welcome individuals who bring experience from upscale leisure hospitality and are looking to establish themselves in the Engadin for the long term.
What We Offer
Chesa Marchetta is part of Artfarm, an international group that develops and operates distinctive places, properties and cultural projects.
You can expect a position with significant responsibility, short decision-making paths and the opportunity to actively shape a property during an exciting phase of its development.
Chesa Marchetta offers the opportunity to take ownership, contribute ideas and develop both professionally and personally. You will have the opportunity to grow with the hotel and gradually take on greater responsibility.
As Artfarm continues to expand its presence in the region, exciting opportunities within the group may arise over time – potentially including cross-property responsibility. The position therefore offers the opportunity to grow with the role and the wider group over the long term.
