Description
ABOUT ASCENT LOUNGE
Located at The Shops at Columbus Circle overlooking Central Park, Ascent Lounge is a sophisticated cocktail lounge and event destination in the heart of Manhattan.
Known for its striking setting, elevated cocktails and cuisine, and warm, attentive hospitality, Ascent welcomes a dynamic mix of New Yorkers, international visitors, private-event guests, and leading brands. From an intimate evening overlooking Central Park to weddings, celebrations, and high-profile corporate events, every experience is shaped by thoughtful service and attention to detail.
We’re looking for talented hospitality professionals who take pride in their craft, enjoy connecting with people, and want to be part of a team committed to creating memorable guest experiences.
THE ROLE
As a Cocktail Server, you’ll play an important role in shaping the Ascent experience from the moment guests are seated. You’ll provide knowledgeable, attentive beverage and food service, anticipate guest needs, and build genuine connections while maintaining the standards expected of an upscale New York hospitality destination.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Deliver warm, attentive, and personalized table service
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, premium spirits, wine, champagne, and bottle service
• Guide guests confidently through cocktail, beverage, and food selections
• Identify opportunities to recommend and upsell premium offerings in a natural, guest-focused way
• Anticipate guest needs and preferences with strong attention to detail
• Manage multiple tables efficiently while maintaining composure during high-volume service
• Keep your section immaculate and presentation-ready throughout service
• Collaborate closely with bartenders, hosts, management, and fellow service team members
• Help maintain the atmosphere, presentation, and service standards that define the Ascent experience
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We value the quality and relevance of your experience more than a specific number of years.
Previous cocktail serving experience is important, ideally within an upscale lounge, fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, nightlife venue, or other high-touch hospitality environment.
The strongest candidates will bring:
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and champagne
• An intuitive understanding of elevated hospitality and guest engagement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence, poise, and professionalism
• Strong sales instincts without sacrificing genuine hospitality
• The ability to remain composed, gracious, and attentive during high-volume service
• A polished, professional presentation
• A genuine interest in creating memorable experiences for guests
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
At Ascent, great service goes well beyond taking an order. It means reading the room, anticipating what a guest may need before they ask, remembering preferences, and knowing when to engage and when to give guests space. We’re looking for people who understand those nuances and can deliver them consistently.
