Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Reception Manager to work with the Front of House Manager and Rooms Division Manager in promoting our Red Carnation Hotels & Forbes 5 Star standards, as well as training and developing our team members. 

Duties of the Reception Manager will include: 

  • Leading the Reception & Concierge Team, working as part of the Front of House team.
  • Promoting Red Carnation Hotel and Forbes 5 Star Standards.
  • Providing the guest, at all times, with the highest levels of guest care and personal attention, anticipating the guests needs and initiating actions to exceed expectations where possible
  • Conducting 1-1's & performance appraisals.
  • Assist in managing the department training programmes and conduct training with the team as required.
  • Assist the Front of House manager in rostering and daily signing off on the system.
  • Monitor the holiday requests.
  • Update SOP's and training documents.
  • Monitor uniform standards and complete weekly assessments.
  • To promote good communication between the departments and the hotel- ensuring that information gets passed along to the relevant personnel. 
  • To objectively review the services offered and look at ways of stream-lining systems, procedures and help implement these. 
  • To complete a full handover prior to going off duty so to ensure that communication remains consistent. 

 The ideal candidate for the Reception Manager position should:

• Have previous experience in a similar role within the 5 star hospitality environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Have strong leadership & people management skills.
• Have the ability to handle busy situations and manage workload effectively.
• Have a friendly & outgoing personality.
• Be enthusiastic & flexible (need to work 5 days over 7 day period, inclusive of some weekends).
• Be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
