Ashford Castle, Ireland’s only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel and one of the world's most iconic hospitality destinations, is seeking a dedicated People & Culture Officer to join our team in Cong, Co. Mayo.

This is a unique opportunity to support a heritage-rich property known for excellence, while contributing to a culture that values people, service, and innovation.

 



Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategy, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Review, update, and maintain HR policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, and engagement indicators.
  • Conduct exit interviews and support our employer brand through recruitment platforms.
  • Advise and support managers on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management practices.
  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of employee records and HR systems.


What we are Looking For:

  • CIPD membership is desired.
  • Prior experience in a similar HR or People & Culture role.
  • Strong understanding of Irish employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
