Atrium DUMBO restaurant in DUMBO Brooklyn is planning their spring reopening and are looking for a sommelier to oversee their Best Award of Excellence wine program with over 400 selections. You would be working directly with Master Sommelier Alexander LaPratt and would have the full benefit of his guidance, mentoring and supervision. Ideal candidates are passionate, curious, energetic, enthusiastic, have a great work ethic, familiar with a broad range and styles of wines, active in the wine community, active on social media and are looking to improve their knowledge and grow in the wine industry. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Must be able to physically lift and move cases of wine around. Candidates should easily be able to answer questions on the major regions of France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the USA. They should also be able to easily decant a bottle of wine, open and serve sparkling wine and know how to use an Ah-So for older bottles. Previous management experience and educational instruction experience are pluses. We also highly encourage women and BIPOC individuals to apply. Sommelier certification is not required however this would be a great opportunity for Certified Sommeliers working towards their Advanced Sommelier Examination or Advanced Sommeliers preparing for the Master Sommelier Examination to get the kind of direction and wine focused environment that they will need to take that next step in their education.
