Situated in Downtown’s Second Street District, Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin City Limits music venue and nearby boutiques. With inspiring interiors by Kelly Wearstler and culinary offerings in collaboration with MML Hospitality, Austin Proper offers 238 rooms and suites, a dedicated spa and fitness center, and 9,500 square feet of meeting and event spaces, including a rooftop pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and majestic lake views. Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviche, and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila & mezcal, as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Attend to customers upon entrance
• Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
• Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations
• Make drinks in a quick and efficient manner
• Check customers’ identification and confirm they’re of legal drinking age
• Collaborate with other servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Handle complaints or challenges with a positive attitude
• Issue bills and accept payment

Qualifications

• Proven restaurant serving and bartending experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong liquor, wine & beer and food knowledge
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexible schedule - Willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
