Badiani is an Italian brand with Gelateria's in the UK, Italy and Spain! We were founded in 1932 and entered the UK market in 2016. We now bring joy and colour to the lives of thousands daily through our beautiful concept stores and award-winning gelato!! We are a fast growing business and are entering more exciting markets in 2024 whilst growing our E-commerce and B2B platforms. We now have outlets across London and a Gelato Lab in order to share our amazing products with a wider customer base.

What you will be doing:

Reporting directly into the CFO you will be a member of this small finance function in a fast growing business. As a Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our UK, Spanish and French subsidiaries while ensuring alignment with the group's overall financial strategy. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of retail finance and the ability to balance meticulous attention to detail with a strategic perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as first point of contact for staff with day-to-day queries and liaise with the team
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting aligning with the group's reporting directions
  • Analyse financial performance, trends, and key metrics to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the group's finance team to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with local regulations and group standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting principles, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external providers (auditors, accountants and advisors)
  • Financial Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Streamline financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor controlling and operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field;
  • Proven experience 5 years in finance management roles, with a focus on retail companies.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is required; additional language skills (French or Italian) would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data to inform decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy, coupled with the ability to understand and communicate the big picture.
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis in a multinational environment.
  • Familiarity with Spanish accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
