Description

Role Summary

A Server at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests. The Server is expected to perform in a hospitable, efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our guests have an outstanding dining experience. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive and anticipatory to guests needs. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed, while exceeding expectations of all.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism with each team member and guest

  • Develop and retain a complete knowledge of all food, beverage, and dietary restrictions to answer guest questions

  • Ensure all steps of service are followed

  • Execute opening and closing procedures associated with assigned station

  • Work seamlessly and communicate with all team members

  • Assistant to assure guests have a valuable overall experience

  • Handle disputes and/or complaints with the utmost respect, professionalism and hospitality and go above and beyond to always accommodate special request

  • Attend Food, Wine and Team training opportunities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of server experience in an upscale or fine-dining high volume establishment

  • Will be required to complete and pass quizzes on product/job knowledge

  • Positive attitude, a sense of responsibility and ownership of the position

  • Appetite for creating memorable moments of hospitality for our guests

  • Desire to learn and grow within the position and restaurant

  • Knowledge and passion for wine, beer, and craft cocktails

  • Understanding of classic food, wine service, pairings, and service ware

  • Detail oriented with strong communication skills

  • Team oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability
