Barlume Beach Montauk is looking for a night watchman (or overnight security guard) who protects premises, assets, and personnel during nighttime hours. Responsibilities include patrolling property grounds, monitoring surveillance (CCTV), locking entry points, checking for fire hazards or vandalism, and responding to emergencies. They maintain detailed logs and report suspicious activity. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols, checking doors, windows, and perimeter fencing

· Monitor security cameras, alarms, and surveillance equipment to detect intruders or technical malfunctions.

· Authorize entry and exit of staff or visitors and secure the building at the end of the day.

· Inspect safety equipment, lighting, and machinery to ensure they are functional and safe.

· Document hourly checks, security breaches, and daily activity in a, log, reporting incidents to law enforcement or management  

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or GED certificate.

· Previous security or law enforcement experience is often preferred.

· Ability to handle emergency situations (CPR/first aid training is a plus), basic computer proficiency, strong observation skills and strong communication,

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and, in some cases, lift or move heavy objects.

· Reliability, vigilance, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision during late-night hours.

Working Conditions

· Working alone, often overnight (e.g., 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.).

· Quiet, controlled environment, but requiring high alertness.

· Often requires working weekends, holidays, and long overnight shifts.

· Positions are frequently found in hotel, residential, or commercial buildings.
