Description

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable Gardener with bags of energy, a passion for the outdoors and the desire to be the best, to join our Gardens and Maintenance team at The Barnsdale, Rutland. 

Our 46-bedroom hotel overlooks the beautiful Rutland landscape with a picturesque courtyard, with a kitchen brigade providing fine dining using many ingredients sourced from the wealth of fine produce found in the locality. Encircled by idyllic surroundings on the north shore of Rutland Water, the hotel is a tranquil rural haven, close to the charming market towns of Oakham and Uppingham.

You will: 
  • Have a professional and outgoing approach to all our hotel's exteriors, whilst attending internal team meetings as and when required. 
  • Be comfortable leading a small team and delegating - this may include Assistant Gardeners, or Maintenance Assistants. 

  • Have a passion for plants, horticulture and understand plant care, pruning and maintenance.

  • Have a broad understanding of garden machinery, with some proficiency in operating. 

  • Be a team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks.

  • Be motivated with a positive 'can do' attitude.

  • Have between 1-2 years' of gardening experience across hotels, or private residences.
