Group Internal Training Officer

Location: Hoar Cross Hall, Staffordshire, DE13 8QS. Travel to other properties and sites as per business requirements shall be required.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum.

About the Role

As our Group Internal Training Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning and development landscape across our properties. This position ensures that employees are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs efficiently, and that there is a clear, structured career progression path in place. 

This role includes identifying training needs, developing training materials, delivering training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure the goals of the business are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify Training Needs: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the training requirements aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop Training Programs: Design and implement tailored training initiatives, including in-person and online modules, to address identified needs.
  • Deliver Training Sessions: Facilitate engaging and impactful training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring content relevance and effectiveness.
  • Utilize LMS: Provide accessible training resources through our Learning Management System, enabling employees to engage with training materials at their convenience.
  • Evaluate Effectiveness: Assess the impact of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.
  • Lead Apprenticeship Program: Manage the apprenticeship program in collaboration with the Internal Recruiter, fostering talent development within the organisation.​  
  • Design Leadership Programs: Develop and implement leadership, management, and supervisory training initiatives to build a strong pipeline of future leaders.​  
  • Oversee Training Budget: Ensure cost-effective training initiatives aligned with company guidelines, monitoring expenditures and maximizing value.​  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Group Head of HR, Managing Directors, Heads of Departments, and Line Managers.

Essential

  • Instructional Design Expertise: Proficient in developing and delivering engaging training programs using adult learning principles and various instructional design methodologies.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experienced in utilizing LMS platforms and e-learning tools to create, manage, and track training content.  
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to present information clearly and engage diverse audiences.  
  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.   
  • Analytical Abilities: Skilled in assessing training needs, evaluating program effectiveness, and making data-driven decisions to enhance learning outcomes.  
  • Resilience: Demonstrated capacity to handle challenges effectively and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing organisational needs.

Desirables

  • Hospitality Industry Experience: Previous experience in a training role within the hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • Professional Certification: CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification in Learning and Development.​

  • Full-time role: 40 hours per week.
  • Location: Based at Hoar Cross Hall (DE13 8QS)
  • Driving Licence: A full valid UK driving licence is required. This role involves a mix of office-based work and on-site presence at our hotel and spa properties. Flexibility to travel between locations is essential.
