The Beck and Call is your friendly local pub offering a wide range of cask ales and beers, as well as quality home-cooked food in a relaxed environment. Situated in the heart of Meanwood this established pub is popular with locals and people travelling for our famous roast dinners as well as midweek for our special events. Throughout the summer it runs weekly themed specials, with a focus on showcasing local produce at its best and in winter we focus on the hearty classics with a twist.   

THE ROLE

You will lead your team from the front with a focus on great food quality, produced using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. Although the pub has an independent feel it is part of a bigger brand, and this gives you the opportunity to really put your mark on the venue, develop the menu and grow your teams to be the best they can be.

We do weekly specials that don’t have to go through long lines of approval, you really are free to be creative with ingredients and wow our guests. This is a great opportunity for someone with a branded background that would like the freedom to take real ownership.

AS A HEAD CHEF WE EXPECT YOU TO:

• Be personable, driven and ambitious
• Have a good understanding of P&Ls, Stocks, GPs, compliance
• Have experience in menu development and development of specials
• Have experience in driving and implementing changes based on the venue’s growth strategy
• Have an excellent eye for detail
• Have good experience in staff training and development
