ABOUT THE RESTAURANT

In our Manhattan location, we are making cheese and offering prepared food in a casual café, as well as selling cheese, charcuterie, and specialty foods. Downstairs The Cellar is our 85 seat rustic American cocktail/winebar. Our place is beautiful; the menu is simple, rustic New American using only high-quality ingredients. We are approachable excellence. Beecher’s Café and The Cellar are part of Sugar Mountain, where we care deeply about the health, well-being and culinary delight of our customers. We call this our Pure Food Commitment.

We are looking for a Catering and Events Coordinator to help lead our service team. Please be as passionate as we are about providing an incredible dining and service experience. (Full time salaried role + Bene’s)


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate event sales to include social and corporate events through client relations while achieving monthly and annual sales targets
• Advise and make sales recommendation to clients, creatively suggesting all sales opportunities
• Negotiate and prepare event contracts and event orders with clients ensuring accuracy
• Coordinate events to ensure that all services exceed client’s expectations and attend client events for day-of execution
• Maintain a high visibility in the surrounding area and within the industry by networking and participating in partner initiatives
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with third party vendors
• Engage in warm and cold calls with hotels and businesses and direct contact e-mail campaigns and other marketing efforts.
• Maintain an accurate list of leads and clients, and track progress and status
• Supervise event team to ensure seamless execution of events
• Train and update staff of private dining points of service
• Compile post-event write-up and re-costing and collect final payment from client

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 1 + years' experience in coordinating details of private dining, banquet, and/or catering sales in the restaurant and/or hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of fine dining food and beverage and understanding of the Seattle fine dining scene
• Flexibility with schedule; ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as required
• Ability to professionally present promotional materials to prospective customers and to effectively communicate and coordinate with catering kitchen staff and outside vendors.
• Ability to communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand request, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10-20 pounds frequently.
