What do you need to succeed?

Our Hairdresser, assist our care teams to provide an exceptional service, supporting the Reception and Lifestyles Teams.

This is a crucial position and central to the lives of the people we support, so good people skills are essential alongside strong people and organisational skills. If you have previous experience working in the hair and beuty sector, and have an affinity for care – this is the role for you

 

As a Hairdresser, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supports residents with hair and beauty within the home
  • Support the Hospitality Manager with lifestyles activities taking place within the home
  • Undertake tasks as designated in a professional manner, reflecting the values of Oakland Care Group in a person-centred way.  

 

To be successful in this role, you need to have/be:

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Qualification in hair dressing and beauty.
  • Hold hair and beauty certificate.
  • Minimum one (1) year hair and beauty service is desired.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Previous experience in customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of challenging behaviour / dementia awareness.

 

Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and other agencies.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work schedules.

  • Ability to promote a professional image for the company at all times.
  • A caring nature and intuitive sensitivity to the needs of others; diplomatic.
  • Passion for excellence.
