Description

About Belgrave Music Hall:
Belgrave Music Hall is one of Leeds’ most iconic venues — a three-floor celebration of live music, art, rooftop gardens, independent food, and good times. With an ever-changing calendar of events and a reputation for laid-back hospitality, we’re proud to be a creative, energetic hub in the heart of the city. We are now looking for a passionate and driven Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take our food offering to the next level.

The Role:
As Kitchen Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day kitchen operations with a fully hands-on approach, inspiring and motivating the team. We’re looking for someone with a flair for fresh, crowd-pleasing food, strong leadership skills, and a real passion for delivering quality at volume without losing the soul of what makes Belgrave special.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality food.
  • Develop specials that reflect the Belgrave spirit: bold, exciting, and locally loved.
  • Oversee all kitchen operations including stock control, ordering, health & safety, and compliance.
  • Manage food costs, GP targets, and staffing budgets.
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff.
  • Work closely with the wider venue team to support events, pop-ups, and seasonal menus.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager/Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen finances, cost control, and health & safety regulations.
  • Passion for the independent food, drink, and live events scene.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and bonus scheme.
  • Opportunities for creative input
  • Staff discounts across the venue and our wider portfolio.
  • A vibrant, inclusive, and supportive working environment.
  • Staff benefits including ticket discounts and wellbeing initiatives.
  • The chance to be part of one of Leeds’ most beloved venues.
