Description
A Slice House cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer payments at a point-of-sale system, including handling cash, credit cards, and debit cards, while providing excellent customer service by greeting patrons, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise, all while maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. 
Key responsibilities of a restaurant cashier:
  • Customer interaction: Greet customers warmly, take orders, answer questions about the menu, and provide a positive dining experience. 
  • Transaction processing: Operate a point-of-sale system to accurately ring up orders, process payments (cash, credit, debit), and issue receipts. 
  • Cash handling: Accurately count cash, make change, and balance cash drawer at the end of each shift. 
  • Complaint resolution: Address customer concerns and attempt to resolve any issues promptly. 
  • Maintaining cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces and restocking supplies. 
  • Basic inventory management: May assist with restocking items as needed. 
Required skills:
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale system efficiently
