Safety and Risk Manager

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 plus bonus and car allowance

Location: Field Based

We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety and Risk Manager to join The Big Table group, one of the leading independent restaurant companies in the UK. The Big Table operate some of the most recognisable and loved restaurant brands to be found anywhere in the eating-out market, such as Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Las Iguanas and Banana Tree.

This role provides accurate, clear, and relevant expert advice and support to ensure that The Big Table conducts its operations in a safe & effective manner, within the framework of company policies, legislative requirements, and industry best practice.

Actively promoting a positive safety management culture and taking ownership of safety by teams in all areas of the business operation.  Working with external organisation, enforcement authorities, support, and other internal support team you will ensure positive relationships and legal compliance is achieved and maintained.

Responsibilities:

·       Deliver operational safety support to Operations Manager and General Manager.

·       3rd Party Audit function management.  Being the point of contact for day-to-day management of Health and Food Safety audit function and performance.

·       Accident and Incident Management

·       Pest Control Management

·       Waste Management

·       New Site Opening Health and Food Safety Requirements

·       Reporting

·       Project Work

Qualifications/Experience:

·       Full, UK Driving Licence

·       NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent & level 4 award in Food Safety (or equivalent)

·       Membership of recognised professional body (with evidence of meeting CPD requirements) preferred.

·       Previous experience in multi-site catering / retail would be a distinct advantage.

·       Previous experience in an enforcement role would be an advantage.

·       Eager to undertake personal development.

·       Commercial in outlook and understanding the current business challenges in the industry.
