Description
ABOUT BISTROTHEQUE
Bistrotheque opened 17 years ago and was inspired by the simple French Bistro. We are located between Bethnal Green and Hackney, in a two-storey unmarked warehouse. The team is small and friendly and we believe in mutual respect.

THE ROLE
The Kitchen Porter role can involve heavy manual duties in the kitchen and the pot wash area.  Duties include carrying out general cleaning work in and around the kitchen, the yard and the refuse storeroom area. The job can be hard graft and tiring for someone who is not strong enough or lacks stamina. Having said all this, the role would fit someone who wants to train to be a chef.  We are focusing on training up members of our team in all areas of preparation and food production to work in the kitchen as chefs.

HOURS
Approximately 35-48 hours per week.  Shifts will usually be Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday and follow a stable rota pattern by month. Minimum of 2 consecutive days off 6 weeks holiday, 4 of which are to be taken in August each year.

LOCATION
E2, very close to Cambridge Heath Overground and a short walk to Bethnal Green Underground.

PAY
£10.85 per hour London Living Wage.

ABOUT YOU
Experience in a busy volume kitchen as a porter would be ideal. Ability to work fast with a high standard of cleanliness. This is a fast-paced, busy kitchen. We are drawn to those who want to learn and progress to be chefs.  You need to be whilst also being team players and able to work well under instruction.
