Description
The Role
We are looking for a sous chef to lead services in our main kitchen.  This is specifically a service-orientated role, we have a separate weekday team working on prep.

Responsibilities
  • In a nutshell, run the service kitchen
  • Inspire, train, develop and motivate service chefs
  • Ensure food going over the pass is consistently served to spec
  • Manage food hygiene/health & safety in the service kitchen
  • Work within the senior team made up of the Head Chef and Lead Prep Chef
  • Take part in menu development
Basic Package

  • Total remuneration £50,000 per year
  • 48 hours per week
  • Days will be either Wednesday to Sunday or Thursday to Sunday
  • 2 - 3 consecutive days off (Monday & Tuesday or Monday to Wednesday)
  • 6 weeks paid holiday (4 weeks to be taken in August)

Bistrotheque opened 17 years ago and was inspired by the humble French Bistro. We are located between Bethnal Green and Hackney, in a two-storey unmarked warehouse. Over time, we’ve built a loyal following of stylish East Londoners who appreciate quality and consistency. The team is small and friendly and we believe in mutual respect. 

Location
E2, very close to Cambridge Heath Overground and a short walk to Bethnal Green Underground.

About you
At least 2 years experience in a quality/volume kitchen with at least 1 year at sous chef level.  We are drawn to those who are team players and able to work within a framework with sufficient flexibility to cope with the unexpected.
