General Manager Vacancy

The Blackbird, Earl’s Court

The Blackbird is an Ale & Pie brand operation with 9 bedrooms, a traditional bar area that is popular with tourists and a separate restaurant space that is often used by guests looking for a quiet space to work from during the day.

The business is frequented by locals, football supporters attending Chelsea matches and tourists walking the area of Earl’s Court. The hotel guests are a mix of tourists and corporate customers.

The Blackbird has built and maintained a first-class reputation and superb profitable sales growth. It has an excellent team with a strong talent pipeline already in place. The perfect candidate will have excellent retailing and team buildings skills. They will understand that leading and coaching are the foundations to success of this operation.

Whilst hotel experience is not essential it would be an advantage. It’s worth noting to our new General Manager that as a 24/7 business this comes with its own set of challenges.

This is a Live Out position.

 What can we offer you?

  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Medical & Dental cash plan including video GP appointments
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • 25%-40% staff discount off food and drink, across all our pubs and hotels for you and your friends and family (increases with length of service)
  • Discounted hotel stays
  • Full induction and training
  • Opportunity to grow in your role
  • The option to receive 30% of your earnings as you earn them with Wagestream. This means you won’t need to wait until payday for your money.
  • Retail discounts with the My Fuller’s Hub

Could you write the next chapter of our story?

As our General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of the pub.

Ultimately, the smiles on faces, the return visits and the positive reviews are all down to you - making this one of the most rewarding jobs in the hospitality business.

For any General Manager, Fuller’s is a special company to work for. You’ll get lots of help and support from our Support Office when you need it, but also plenty of encouragement to put your own spin on the pub.

You can take plenty of pride in the role too, knowing that Fuller’s ales, food and service has a reputation as some of the very best in the business.

You’ll need to be commercially minded, making the right decisions to keep customers pouring through the doors. Importantly though, you’ll be a people-person too - mindful that to many, you’re still a good old-fashioned ‘Landlord’.

And of course, you’ll have a team to look after. So, we’re looking for somebody with true leadership qualities – able to keep both the customers and the team smiling.
