Description

Founded in 1991 by company president Joe Blackstone, Blackstone Consulting, Inc. (BCI) is an international service provider supporting nearly 6,000 managed employees. Our earliest partnerships paired us with the Department of Defense to provide full food, mess attendant and janitorial services. And while those partnerships continue to this day, our client base has grown to include Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, schools, universities, and industrial sites.

LOCATION: USMMA

ROLE:  Salad Prep

Experience

Demonstrated history of related Food Service experience preferably within a fast-paced environment, and/or large institution

Basic Qualifications

Food, Restaurant, and/or Team experience

Knowledge of proper food safety handling

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with kitchen and food prep equipment

A team player with a positive can-do attitude

Quick and adaptable learner

Collaborative communication skills

Accountable in upholding high standards

Specific Responsibilities

Prepares foods requiring short preparation time.

Prepares large quantities of various types of fresh and prepared salads.

Ensures salad bar is completely stocked at all times.

Follow recipe cards for making salads. Seeks new and innovative ideas in ensuring a first-rate salad bar at all times.

Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.

Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.

May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and must follow all Company, client and regulatory rules and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

Understands OSHA requirements, Labor requirements (Wage Determination), and employment law as it relates to managing the workforce.
Understand and follow BCI Employee Handbook, policy and procedures, and payroll requirements.
Comply with all HACCP standards.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Walks, stands and moves about the kitchen and dining facility to ensure compliance with SOP
Some bending and stooping

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machines, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine and computer printer.
