A Bar Back supports bartenders and bar staff by keeping the bar fully stocked, clean, and organised. The role focuses on preparation and behind-the-scenes tasks so bartenders can serve customers quickly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Assist bartenders during busy service periods.
Refill ice bins, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies.
Collect empty glasses from the bar area and tables.
Restock beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and bar ingredients.
Carry and store deliveries in the correct storage areas.
Rotate stock and report low inventory to the manager.
Wash and polish glassware.
Keep the bar area, floor, and workstations clean and tidy.
Remove rubbish and recycling regularly.
Prepare fruit garnishes (lemon, lime, orange, etc.).
Refill condiment trays and drink mixers.
Set up the bar before opening and assist with closing duties.
Follow hygiene and sanitation standards.
Handle glassware and equipment safely.
Support responsible alcohol service policies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina (lifting crates, standing long hours).
Attention to cleanliness and organisation.
Previous hospitality or bar experience is helpful but often not required.
