The Wild Duck is a beautifully restored Cotswolds inn located in the village of Ewen near Cirencester. Recently taken over by Sam and Georgie, founders of the hospitality group Country Creatures, the inn has been thoughtfully revived with a focus on warmth, comfort, elevated pub dining, and exceptional guest experience. Cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail are central to everything we do.

Role Overview

The Wild Duck is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the daily cleaning and upkeep of the venue. This hands-on role is essential in ensuring that all guest-facing and staff areas are kept clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times, contributing to a consistently high standard of presentation throughout the inn.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning of the venue, including public areas, dining spaces, restrooms, and staff areas.
• Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to the management team.
• Support the wider housekeeping team as required during busy periods.
• Maintain a professional, discreet, and friendly presence within the venue.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous cleaning or housekeeping experience (hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential).
• Takes pride in their work and has strong attention to detail.
• Is reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Understands the importance of cleanliness in delivering a great guest experience.
• Is physically able to carry out cleaning duties.
• Works well as part of a small, close-knit team.
